Expanding Our Mission: The 3 Ships Are Changing More Than Schools

"For over a decade, we've had the privilege of serving educational leaders and helping organizations strengthen relationships, leadership, and partnerships. Along the way, one truth has become increasingly clear: the greatest challenges facing schools are often the same challenges facing businesses, nonprofits, healthcare organizations, municipalities, and community groups. People want to work in places where they are valued, trusted, and inspired. That's why RLR is excited to expand our services beyond education—bringing the proven principles of The 3 Ships to organizations of every kind. Our mission remains unchanged: to serve, support, and help leaders and their organizations. Only our reach is growing."

As I reflect on my 38-year journey in education, I am filled with gratitude for the thousands of leaders, educators, school board members, staff, students, and community partners who have shaped my understanding of leadership. Every challenge, every success, and every relationship reinforced a simple but powerful truth:

Leadership is about people.

While organizations may differ in their missions, the challenges leaders face are remarkably similar. Every leader is striving to build trust, strengthen communication, create healthy cultures, navigate change, resolve conflict, and inspire people toward a common purpose.

Whether you're leading a school district, a family-owned business, a nonprofit organization, a healthcare system, or a community agency, these challenges remain the same because leadership is, and always will be, a people business.

That realization is what inspired the next chapter of RLR.

For years, organizations outside of education have invited us to facilitate strategic planning, lead executive retreats, strengthen leadership teams, improve board and executive relationships, and develop healthier organizational cultures. We discovered something exciting along the way: the principles that helped school leaders succeed were creating the same positive impact in businesses and nonprofits.

Why?

Because the foundation never changes.

It All Begins with the 3 Ships

At RLR, our work has always centered on three essential leadership anchors:

Relationships

Trust is earned through consistency, integrity, empathy, and authentic connection. Healthy organizations begin with healthy relationships.

Leadership

Leadership is not about titles or authority. It's about serving others, providing clarity, making courageous decisions, and helping people become the very best versions of themselves.

Partnerships

No organization succeeds alone. Lasting success comes when people work together around a shared vision, aligned goals, and mutual accountability.

These aren't simply concepts—they're the principles that have guided our work with leaders for decades.

Why We're Expanding

Today, organizations across every sector are navigating unprecedented change. Leaders are being asked to do more, communicate better, build stronger cultures, develop future leaders, and maintain trust in an increasingly complex world.

The need for intentional leadership has never been greater.

That's why RLR is expanding its mission to serve businesses, nonprofits, healthcare organizations, municipalities, and community organizations alongside our continued commitment to educational leadership.

While our audience is growing, our purpose remains exactly the same:

Serve. Support. Help.

Those three words continue to guide every conversation, every workshop, every keynote, every strategic planning session, and every coaching relationship.

Looking Ahead

Over the next several newsletters, we'll share practical leadership insights that apply to every organization—whether you're leading a classroom, a company, a nonprofit, or an entire community.

Together we'll explore:

  • The leadership challenges every organization shares.

  • How strategic planning creates extraordinary organizations.

  • Why the 3 Ships provide a timeless framework for leading through change.

  • Practical strategies that leaders can implement immediately to strengthen culture, communication, and trust.

We're excited about this next chapter, but one thing will never change:

Our commitment to helping leaders build organizations where people thrive.

Thank you for allowing RLR to be part of your leadership journey. We look forward to serving even more leaders while continuing to invest in the relationships, leadership, and partnerships that make great organizations possible.

Until next time...

Keep building Relationships.
Keep growing your Leadership.
Keep strengthening your Partnerships.

Because great organizations don't happen by chance—they are built by leaders who choose to serve others every single day.

At RLR Leadership Consulting, our mission remains simple:

Serve. Support. Help Leaders and Their Organizations.

Who's In Your Inner Circle?

Who's In Your Inner Circle?
RLR Leadership Consulting and The CORE Project

Think about the people closest to you. The ones you share ideas with, lean on for support, and let influence your decisions. That group—your inner circle—shapes how you see yourself, the choices you make, and even the risks you’re willing to take.

Sometimes, those relationships give you energy and push you forward. Other times, they hold you back. That’s why RLR Leadership Consulting and The CORE Project have teamed up to create Your Inner Circle—an opportunity to pause, reflect, and intentionally shape the connections that matter most.

In this experience, you’ll:

  • Identify who truly belongs in your circle

  • Learn how to set healthy boundaries when needed

  • Build trust that actually lasts

  • Choose connections that make you stronger

Because the truth is, leadership isn’t just about strategy or skills—it’s about people. And the people closest to you can either empower your growth or limit your potential.

We’d love for you to join us. As a special opportunity, use code Randy15 for a discounted price—but hurry, this offer won’t last long.
